ORION ORIGINS
return to music

As for the beginnings of a different style of music that began a long series, I searched long and hard for a synth program that would basically function as a grown-up version of "Mario Paint" from the Super Nintendo days. My game design team in college was working on a simple flash game reminiscent of old nintendo anyway, so I didn't want something with guitar that didn't match. At first it was a sidescrolling castle game featuring a player jumping around and fighting with a sword.

Unfortunately, the programmer couldn't master the collision detection in time. So with four class periods to go, a space shooter was made. Thanatos was a simple, quickly made space shooter. I did the soundtrack and we stole sound effects from sounddogs.com

Due to the change in theme, halfway through the soundtrack changed to a space theme as well. I was originally called "Songs From Orion, Volume One" to have a title for the CD I made for them.
